The Winton Workouts were held at the Central Southland Raceway today and last seasons leading two year gelding Cassius Bromac looked a lot stronger this time in. He won his heat by two lengths in the hands of Brent Barclay from Cab Calloway.

Rockabilly Blues showed that she hadn’t lost any of her talent when she beat a handy field of horses in the up to R65 rating Mobile Pace. Her winning time was 3-01.9 with the last 800 metres run in 57.8.

Longueval a Bettor’s Delight three year old beat stablemate Croesus in the Learners Mobile Pace. He’s out of a Christian Cullen mare which is a half-sister to The Big Mach which won seven races in New Zealand and another twenty in Australia.

In the final heat of the day quality trotter Dark Horse returned to the race track after nearly two years on the sideline.
She raced against the pacers and was beaten by Toby O’Gara by a length. The overall time for the 2400 metre stand was 3-07.3. Mach’s Back finished off nicely to run third.
