WORLD DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIP DAY - Day 1

For 2-year-old pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Sex (fillies drawn inside colts and geldings) numbering sequentially from 1.
For R35 to R65 3yo-&-older trotters. Front: R35 to R45. 10m: R46 to R50. 20m: R51 to R57. 30m: R58 to R65.
For R35 to R45 4 yrs & older pacing mares. Also R35 3yo fillies with unplaced(4th or lower) in the last 6 starts. This race is for Invited Drivers only and has a Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1. Rating Penalty Free Race.
For R35 to R37 4 yrs & older pacers. Also R38 4 yrs & older horses with 1 win for lifetime. Also R35 3yo horses with unplaced(4th or lower) in the last 6 starts. This race is for Invited Drivers only. Rating Penalty Free Race.
For R35 to R50 4yo-&-older trotters. This race is for Invited Drivers only and has a Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1. Rating Penalty Free Race.
For R35 to R45 3-year-old pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Sex (fillies drawn inside colts and geldings) using the track grid.
For R45 to R60 3yo-&-older pacers. Front: R45 to R50. 10m: R51 to R55. 20m: R56 to R60.
  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the club has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the club to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the club of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP FINAL


    For non-win (MR), or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Wyndham HRC meeting held on Thursday 2nd October 2025. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners, MR), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Wyndham HRC, Northern Southland TC, Invercargill HRC, Oamaru HRC, Tuapeka HRC and Winton HRC and have its second win in the period from 2nd October 2025 through to 31st October 2025 at a Southern Harness Racing Club meeting. 3. Field selection for the Gold Chip Final will operate as follows: Most wins at during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 2nds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 3rds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, then club discretion. 4. The $15000 Gold Chip Final will be raced over 2400m, from a standing start. Non-win horses will start off the front. R rated horses off a 20 metre handicap. 6. A horse can only win one Gold Chip Final.

  7. WDC RACE CONDITION ALTERATIONS


    The race conditions of World Drivers Championship heats, may, at the discretion of The Bureau be altered in order to ensure the fullest fields possible are carded. Any changes made will be communicated via text message & added to the Nominations text, online.

  8. EXTRAORDINARY PENALTY FREE STATUS


    In the event a four-year-old or older horse wins a World Driving Championship heat where it has previously benefitted from winning a Rating Penalty Free race this year, the win on this programme will become an Extraordinary Rating Penalty Free win, whereby a horse will receive a second Rating Penalty free win for the 2025 racing season only (January to December). 3YO only or 3YO & Older races run as heats within the WDC will be defined as Extraordinary Rating Penalty Free races.
