For 4 yrs & older pacers with 1 win for lifetime. This race is for Junior Drivers only. Rating Penalty Free Race.
For 2yo pacers with up to 1 win for lifetime. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes then Sex (fillies and mares drawn inside colts, geldings and entires) using the track grid. If this race is not held these races will be transferred to other races and conditions changed.
For R49 to R63 pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1.
For R51 to R70 trotters. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season.
For R37 to R45 2yo-&-older pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1.

  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the club has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the club to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the club of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP


    For non-win (MR), or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Winton HRC meeting to be held on Thursday 3rd August 2025. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners, MR), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Winton HRC, Invercargill HRC, Gore HRC, Wyndham HRC and Oamaru HRC) in the period from 3rd August 2025 through to 18th September 2025. The 'R' rating horses must win their second respective race at one of the Southern Harness meetings to be eligible 3.Field selection for the Gold Chip Championship will operate as follows: Most wins at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 2nds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 3rds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, then Club Discretion. 4.The $15000 Gold Chip Championship held on 28th September 2025 at the Gore HRC meeting and will be raced over 2700m, from a standing start. (non-winners, MR) will start from the front line, R rated horses from a 20 metre handicap. 5. A horse can only win one Gold Chip Final.
