In the event there are nine or fewer acceptors for this race, the club reserves the right to add the lowest rating out of form 1-win trotters from Race 2, off a handicap of 30-metres. See special condition No.6
For R35 to R70 trotters. Front: R35 to R45. 10m: R46 to R50. 20m: R51 to R60. 30m: R61 to R70. See special condition No.6
For 2-year-old pacing fillies. In the event this Race or Race 4 is not run, the races will be combined & run as a 2YO Open Non-Win with a Preferential Barrier Draw on Sex. If there are not enough horses to ensure a 2YO race is run, those remaining accepted horses will become eligible for & transferred to either of Race 5 or 6.
For 2-year-old pacing colts & geldings. In the event this Race or Race 3 is not run, the races will be combined & run as a 2YO Open Non-Win with a Preferential Barrier Draw on Sex. If there are not enough horses to ensure a 2YO race is run, those remaining accepted horses will become eligible for & transferred to either of Race 5 or 6.
For 3yo-&-older pacing fillies & mares. If there are insufficient horses to ensure a 2YO race is run (Races 3 & 4), those remaining accepted horses will become eligible for & transferred to either this Race or Race 6.
For 3yo-&-older pacers. If there are insufficient horses to ensure a 2YO race is run (Races 3 & 4), those remaining accepted horses will become eligible for & transferred to either this Race or Race 5.
For pacers with 1 win for lifetime. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Earnings in the last 4 starts using the track grid. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season.
For R35 to R60 pacers. Also R61 to R65 if driven by a concession junior driver. This race will be split on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary sequentially from 1. The highest rating race will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season. The stake for the lowest rating race will be $10,000, middle race(s) $12,000 and highest race $13,000.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the club has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the club to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the club of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP


    For non-win (MR), or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Oamaru HRC meeting to be held on Thursday 6th November 2025. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners, MR), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Oamaru HRC, Winton HRC, Wyndham HRC, Invercargill HRC and Forbury Park TC) in the period from 6th November 2025 through to 19th December 2025. The 'R' rating horses must win their second respective race at one of the Southern Harness meetings to be eligible 3.Field selection for the Gold Chip Championship will operate as follows: Most wins at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 2nds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 3rds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, then Club Discretion. 4.The $15000 Gold Chip Championship held on 27th December 2025 at the Gore HRC meeting and will be raced over 2700m, from a standing start. (non-winners, MR) will start from the front line, R rated horses from a 20 metre handicap. Only one Gold Chip Final can be won.
