MAY MEETING - Day 1

Front: Trotters with no wins for lifetime. 20m: Horses with 1 or more wins for lifetime. For horses who were either (MR) non-win or 1-win at the time of the Winton HRC meeting on 22nd March 2024, and have raced at a Southern Harness Racing meeting at least once between 22nd March 2025 and 27th April 2025. See special condition No.6
For trotting fillies & mares with 1 to 2 wins for lifetime. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season.
For R35 to R65 trotters. Front: R35 to R40. 10m: R41 to R50. 20m: R51 to R57. 30m: R58 to R65.
For 2yo pacers with up to 1 win for lifetime. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes then Sex (fillies and mares drawn inside colts, geldings and entires) using the track grid.
For 3 yrs & older pacers with 1 win for lifetime. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season.
For R35 to R55 3yo-&-older pacers. Also R56 to R60 if driven by a concession junior driver. This race will be split based on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary. The stake for the lowest rating race will be $10,000, middle race(s) $11,000 and highest race $12,000.

  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the club has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the club to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the club of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP FINAL


    For non-win (MR), or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Wyndham HRC meeting held on Sunday 30th March 2025. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners, MR), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Wyndham HRC, Invercargill HRC, Wairio TC and Winton HRC) and have its second win in the period from 30th March 2025 through to 27th April 2025 at a Southern Harness Racing Club meeting. 3. Field selection for the Gold Chip Final will operate as follows: Most wins at during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 2nds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 3rds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, then club discretion. 4. The $15000 Gold Chip Final will be raced over 2400m, from a standing start. Non-win (MR) horses will start off the front. R rated horses off a 20 metre handicap. 6. A horse can only win one Gold Chip Final.
