For 3-year-old pacing colts & geldings. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes numbering sequentially from 1. For conditions of Series can be viewed on HRNZ and the Southern Harness Website under Racing and Southern Harness Features.
For R35 to R55 4 yrs & older pacers. Also R35 to R55 3yo fillies. This race will be split based on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary numbering sequentially from 1.

For R55 to R100 pacers. Front: R55 to R63. 10m: R64 to R72. 20m: R73 to R80. 30m: R81 to R90. 40m: R91 to R100. This race is included in the COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP. This race is included in the Southern Cups Series and Country Championship.
  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the bureau has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the bureau to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the bureau of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP


    For non-win, or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Winton HRC meeting to be held on Thursday 26th March 2026. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Winton HRC, Wyndham HRC, Invercargill HRC and Wairio TC) in the period from 26th March 2026 through to 26th April 2026. The 'R' rating horses must win their second respective race at one of the Southern Harness meetings to be eligible 3.Field selection for the Gold Chip Championship will operate as follows: Most wins at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 2nds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 3rds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, then Bureau Discretion. 4.The $15000 Gold Chip Championship held on 3rd May at the Riverton TC meeting and will be raced over 2400m, from a standing start. (non-winners) will start from the front line, R rated horses from a 20 metre handicap.
