APRIL MEETING - Day 1

Invercargill Harness Racing Club @ Ascot Park Raceway, Invercargill
In the event there are nine or fewer acceptors for this race, the club reserves the right to add the lowest rating out of form 1-win trotters from Race 2, off a handicap of 30 metres. See special condition No.6.
For R35 to R50 trotters. Front: R35 to R40. 10m: R41 to R50. See special condition No.6.
For 3-year-old pacing fillies. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid. For conditions of Series can be viewed on the Southern Harness Website under Racing and Southern Features.
For R35 to R45 pacers. Also horses with 1 win for lifetime. The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season.
For R35 to R50 pacers. Also R51 to R55 if driven by a concession junior driver. These races will be split based on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary. The winner of the highest rating race will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO & older, & driven by a Junior Driver, & has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season. The lowest rating race will carry a stake of $10,000, middle race(s) $11,000 & highest race $12,000.

For R35 to R70 4yo-&-older pacing mares. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid. For 4YO and older mares rated at R70 as at 1st January 2025. For conditions of series can be viewed on the Southern Harness website under Racing and Southern Features.

  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the club has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the club to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the club of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP


    For non-win (MR), or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Wyndham HRC meeting to be held on Sunday 30th March 2025. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners, MR), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Wyndham HRC, Invercargill HRC, Wairio TC, Winton HRC and Invercargill HRC) in the period from 30th March 2025 through to 27th March 2025. The 'R' rating horses must win their second respective race at one of the Southern Harness meetings to be eligible 3.Field selection for the Gold Chip Championship will operate as follows: Most wins at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 2nds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, most 3rds at a Southern Harness Club meeting during that period, then Club Discretion. 4.The $15000 Gold Chip Championship held on 4th March 2025 at the Riverton TC meeting and will be raced over 2400m, from a standing start. (non-winners, MR) will start from the front line, R rated horses from a 20 metre handicap.
