Treacherous Me wins for new connections

The well bred Treacherous Me (Captaintreacherous) recorded her second win and the first for her new connections, when she took out a heat of the Diamond Creek/SBSR Silk Road Winter Series at Ascot Park today.

Todd and Fluer Anderson of Central Southland originally sold Treacherous Me to Australian Mick Boots who raced her through her two year old campaign. She was then sold back to the Andersons at the end of last season.

“Mick has plenty of horses and was concentrating on the other ones. She was group placed as a two year old and now she’s got a 1-56 mile time today, in what were not perfect conditions,” trainer Nathan Williamson said.

From a handy draw Williamson took Treacherous Me straight to the top, setting a steady pace on the rain affected track.

“She liked it out in front and enjoys rolling.”

With no real attackers, she won easily by five and a quarter lengths from Shootforthestars, with Treasure Chest three quarters of a length back in third.

The winning time for the 1700 metre trip was 2-02.9 - a mile rate of 1-56.3 with the last half cut out in 56.5.

“She’s been competing against those nicer fillies in the Southern Oaks without things going her way. Today she drew nice. It was a step back in grade. She went really good and I was really thrilled with her.”

The win adds to a great weekend for the Anderson family.

Todd and Fleur bred Captain’s Mistress who became a millionaire pacer when she impressively won the 2026 Racing and Sports The Rising Sun at Albion Park last night.

Treacherous Me will now take her place in the $25,000 Diamond Creek/SBSR Silk Road Winter Series Final at Ascot Park this coming Sunday.
