The Invercargill Harness Racing Club is offering a nine-race card at Ascot Park today.

See below, are six horses you might want to consider.

Race Four: The Bricklayer (Art Major) – driver Peter Hunter (FR 7)

Hasn’t raced since May and has been given one quiet workout (2nd) to fine tune for tomorrows race. Trained on the track and could find a handy spot with plenty of speed inside of him. Should be at good odds.

Race Six: Rakaturbo (Always B Miki) – driver Carter Dalgety (SR 2)

Got in tight quarters at his last start and pulled hard, which was his undoing. Form prior to that was excellent. Second row draw should suit and could be at reasonable odds with plenty of form runners coming off the front row.

Race Seven: Treacherous Me (Captaintreacherous) – driver Nathan Williamson (FR3)

Has been group placed as a two year old, surpassing her rivals. Gets a good draw to operate from and should bounce back into winning form.

Race Eight: Miki Skipper (Always B Miki) – driver Hayden Douglas (FR 2)

Faded late at his last start. Has good course and distance stats and a nice draw to operate from. Most of his opposition have second row draws.

Race Nine: Deny Everything (Rocknroll Dance) – driver Blair Orange (SR 1)

As the highest rated horse (R57) in the race, the ten-win gelding looks ideally placed to beat R44-R54 horses. Expect him to roll over the top late. He has Blair Orange on board.
