The Robin Swain trained Bowlem Over, (Net Ten Eom) after an aggressive early drive by in form driver Matty Williamson, got up to win the R4-R44 mobile pace at Ascot Park today.

“He said that when he was out on the track, he could cross the inside runners, so he thought he’d have a go. He is better on the pace. It’s his first run back for a month and I thought he’d need the run,” Swain said.

The lead wasn’t there for Williamson, so he handed up to Rockingood. When the field reached the home straight, Bowlem Over came up the passing lane and beat Durrant by a neck, running the 2200 metres in 2-40.9 on an off track.

“They burnt early and went a quick time. So that was a pretty good run for him at this stage.”

The seven year old gelding is raced by the Bowl A Bouncer Syndicate.

“There’s twenty in the syndicate and they’re having a lot of fun.”

The Syndicate have had a number of horses with Swain, including Franco Huntington before he went to Doug McLachlan and Franco Nixon.

The win was Bowlem Over’s eighth and fifth at Ascot Park.
