Winton tomorrow, G1 the next day

Southern harness racing trainer Nathan Williamson will be watching his team race at Winton tomorrow from Auckland as he awaits Group One duties on Friday with Indulge Me.

Shakedown (Majestic Son) is a new trotter to the barn and is a ‘project horse’ for stable junior Ollie Kite. He starts in Race Three at Winton.

“He’s been a work in progress. He trotted quite well at the trials the other day. We played around with a bit of gear and got the half hopples on him just to keep him solid. He’s got enough ability to win a race in his next few starts,” Williamson said.

Simply Amazing (Bettor’s Delight) is back at the races after a short break. The three year old colt has raced in good age group company and drops back into a ratings race in Race Four.

“He did go good at the workouts and won well a fortnight ago. We’ve found he’s a horse that doesn’t take a lot of work. We’re keeping him fresh and happy and that seems to be the key to him. He’s won here in 1-56 and has been placed in 1-53. That should take him close.”

Rise Up N Dance (Art Major) gets a second line draw in the same race. He was disappointing at his last start.

“We ran some tests on him after his last start because we thought his run was too bad to be true. We thought he was building to some decent form. His blood was out and we’ve treated him and freshened him and we’re pretty pleased with how he’s working.”

Hidden Talent (Bacardi Lindy) face five rivals in Race Five, a mobile mile. She has good mobile and course stats.

“We’re quite happy with her. I think she’s building back to some of her better form. In her last three runs she’s trotted solidly. If she got a nice drag into it she could be potent.”

The stable rounds out the day with Beaudiene Quick Step (A Rocknroll Dance) is Race Nine. The seven year old’s form has been solid since he joined the stable.

“He’s a horse that’s good for the stable juniors. Georgia, Max and Ollie have all had race day drives. He’s a horse they can learn on. Georgia is back on this week and from his draw he’s a top three chance.”
