Chiggsy and Mystery Creek Diamonds Day hopes
Rolleston trainers Hayden and Amanda Cullen transport two horses south for Diamonds Day at Ascot Park on Sunday.
Both Chiggsy (Bettor’s Delight) and Mystery Creek (Bettor’s Delight) are winning chances.
Chiggsy races in the $100,000 G1 Diamond Creek Farm Two Year Old Classic.
“I’m really pleased with him. I’ve been home for the last ten days or so and I thought his training had really stepped up from before he won the Kindergarten. He feels a lot stronger, he looks stronger and I’m really pleased with him,” Hayden said.
Chiggsy draws three, one outside the unbeaten Roger That.
“He’s definitely not a one trick pony. Last start on a wet track he led up and bowled along nice and looked like a real stayer. At his first start he took a trail and still got up the lane. He’s very versatile. I think if Blair can find the front we wouldn’t be afraid to stay there.”

The Diamond Creek Farm Two Year Old Classic has been run since 2015 and three Kindergarten Stakes winners Don’t Stop Dreaming, Vessem and Rubira have gone on to win the Ascot Park feature. Cullen co-trained Don’t Stop Dreaming with Mark Purdon.
Mystery Creek (Bettor’s Delight) represents the stable in the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes Final.
He ran fourth in the last heat of the series finishing an unlucky fourth.

“Unfortunately we drew on the second line, ended up three back on the rail. They ran the half in 55. He was going good after the line and Blair was pleased with him.”
Cullen says he’s been happy with the horses progress since.
“I fast worked him on Monday morning and I couldn’t be happier. Drawing in would have been nicer. He can do a bit of work in his races and he’s got a good bit of speed. It’s now up to Blair. The horse is well and ready to go and in with a good chance.”
