Milnes cart four to Forbury

Hoping to pick up a bit of the prize money at the Forbury Park dual code meeting on the grass, Alex and son Grant Milne head up the road from Edendale to Wingatui tomorrow morning.

Jaccka Omni (Always B Miki) has had two race day appearances and ran third on the grass at Cromwell at his last start. He starts in Race One.

“He’d gone around the trials and has just been an average horse, but when it’s come to race days, he’s measured up. He doesn’t like the grit so that’s why his two starts have been on the grass.” Alex said.

Trotting mare Kay’s Too Cool (Sebastian K) has also had limited race day experience.  Race Two tomorrow will be her fourth start.

“She just needs the experience of racing and she’s come to it quite quickly. She did everything right at Winton and she just has to back it up now. She’s quite an athletic type of horse. I think she’ll win her fair share of races when she gets organised.”

The Milnes have two runners in Race Three - Matai Priscella (Washington VC) and Cruising Fontana (Gold Ace).

Matai Priscella gets a nice draw at two.

“There’s a question mark over her. She didn’t work that nice today (Friday).”

Cruising Fontana draws the outside of the second row.

“He likes the grass. He’s by Gold Ace and they go good on the grass. He’s been a real disappointment for Grant so I’ve got my fingers crossed for tomorrow.”

The Milne’s final starter is Matai Lizzie (Gold Ace).

“She won four races for Michael House and he sent her home. She had a spell and she got too fat on me for a start. I’m hopeful that she’ll start turning her form around.”
