Unlucky runners and fresh faces for Cromwell

The second day of Wyndham HRC meeting at Cromwell will be held tomorrow.

The majority of the fields will be made up of runners that ran on the first day, but there are also some fresh faces with good credentials.

First day unlucky runners worth backing:

Race One: Stumpy Blackler (Bettor’s Delight) - got behind the wrong horse on the first day. He stormed home late for second, but the leader had made too big a break.

Race Two: Premier Arden (Tall Dark Stranger) - broke in the score up on Friday and charged home late to get within half a head of the winner. She will be at skinny odds.

Race Three: What’s The Whisper (What The Hill) - rolled into a break early, losing considerable ground. Tomorrow’s field is smaller so that should assist.

Race Four: Lydah Valley (Sweet Lou) - got too far out of her ground on Friday and was seen running home late. Blair Orange stays on board and she gets a better draw at four.

Race Seven: Captain Amore (Captain Crunch) - ran out of racing room on Friday. He likes to lead and gets a draw to do that on Sunday.

Second day fresh faces worth a look:

Race Six: Always A Menace (Always B Miki) - went huge fresh up on the grass at Gore and has the right qualities to win again.

Race Six: Airwaves (Panspacificflight) - was running home for fifth at Gore. He has very good grass track stats and has won here before.

Race Seven: Tuneinsportsfans (Sportswriter) - his last three starts for a win and two seconds have been on the grass, and he gets a good draw at three.

Race Eight: Beach Day (Sunshine Beach) - she was an excellent fourth in the Group One Breeder Stakes at Addington. This is a massive drop back in class.

Race Nine: Spiritinthesky (Father Patrick) - this trotter is in the zone at the moment and faced a better quality of horses at his last start. He hasn’t won on grass in eight tries, but has been placed on that surface three times.
