After a long break, quality three year old Tact Teva proved he’s lost none of his ability when he won at Addington recently.

“He’s still got a winter coat on him and hopefully we can get that out of him,” said Amanda Telfer who trains the gelding with her brother Steve.

Bred by the estate of Bessie Dynes, the three year old gelding by Lather Up is out of Tact Hayley Jane and his next target is the $50,000 Listed Harness 7000 at Addington on 12th September.

“After that we’ll just pick a path with him. He’s quite a nice horse but he’s been off the scene for a long time. We’ll take it nice and steady. We don’t want to throw him in too deep too quick.”

Other possible races on Tact Teva’s programme include: the $25,000 Lazarus Stakes at Addington 26th September, $100,000 Group One Airpark Canterbury Flying Stakes at Addington 10th October, $50,000 NZ Sires’ Stakes Sophomore Classic at Addington October 17th, $30,000 Ashburton Three Year Old Showcase at Ashburton October 27th and maybe the $500,000 The Velocity at Addington November 14th.

“We’ll consider it, but we’ve also got Bettors Anvil and Bar Louie. I think the owners are looking at buying a couple of slots, so what horses we fill them with will depend on their form.”

The finale of the three year olds season will be the $300,000 Group One New Zealand Pacing Derby November 21st will be Tact Teva’s ultimate goal.
