Southern Bred Southern Reared three year old trotting filly Atlantic City lines up at Addington on Friday.

“It hard to find racing for her at the moment. The races they’re programming are for R50-R70 and I’m not prepared to throw her into those races. It’s too hard to race against horses that are rated R60-R65. You’ve got to be careful with a three year old filly. You can’t be starting her in races she can’t earn money in and hurting her as well,” trainer Phil Williamson said.

But with some lofty targets not far off, there’s no doubting Williamson will have Atlantic City primed when the big money is up.

“She’s coming down for the Southern Oaks for her next start with Have A Little Faith.”

The Volstead-Liberty City filly was bred and is raced by Peter and Janet Argus. From just ten starts she’s won three races, including the Macca Lodge Sires’ Stakes Two Year Old Classique for two year old fillies.

“She’s certainly filled out since her two year old year but she should strengthen even more as a four year old. So I’m looking forward to having her stronger next year. She’ll then be able to race in the rating races.”

Targets for Atlantic City are the $25,000 Southern Trotting Oaks at Ascot Park on 9th October and the $140,000 New Zealand Trotting Oaks on November 21st at Addington.
