New Faces In the South (2)
Southern Bred Southern Reared has a new crop of weanlings to prepare for next seasons sales.
It’s always exciting to see the new kids on the block away from their mums, becoming more independent and growing up.
In this series we see some of the fresh faces for the first time and get their handlers’ opinion of their stock.
A Major Star: Art Major – Zoe’s Charm (colt)
“A leggy nice looking colt from a great family. Zoe is a half to Holmes DG and Giovanetto,“ said Michelle Caig.
Louieloui: Sweet Lou – Chloe Finn (colt)
“He is a compact type with lots of personality.”
Harper Rae: Rock n Roll Heaven – Sonjador (filly)
“An absolutely beautiful filly. She’s Sonjador’s first live filly foal. I may keep her yet!”
Flying Without Wings: Pegasus Spur – Sun Mist (colt)
“He will be a stand out and is a half-brother to nine to the races for eight winners with the best to come. This is the last crop of foals by Pegasus Spur and a very good cross firstly with his grandam Merinai and this colt is a full brother to October Rain. I never go back to the well twice but had to in this case, I was hoping for a filly!”
Apeg: Pegasus Spur – City Lane (colt)
“A half-brother to Saratoga and Renezmae. He’s a December foal so has some growing to do. He’s a sensible weanling with a very fast mother. City Lane won seven races and was second ten times.”
