For R51 to R70 trotters. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating numbering sequentially from 1.
For 2-year-old pacing colts & geldings. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes numbering sequentially from 1. Where a programmed 2YO race has exactly four (4) acceptors at the close of withdrawals, Harness Racing New Zealand, at its discretion, may elect, to elect to proceed with the race and apply a 20% reduction to the advertised stake.
For 2-year-old pacing fillies. Winner to be presented the Ken Dixon Memorial Trophy. Where a programmed 2YO race has exactly four (4) acceptors at the close of withdrawals, Harness Racing New Zealand, at its discretion, may elect to proceed with the race and apply a 20% reduction to the advertised stake. If this race is not held these horses will be transferred to Race 3 and conditions changed.
For 3yo pacing colts & geldings with up to 1 win for lifetime. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes numbering sequentially from 1. For conditions of Series can be viewed on the Southern Harness Website under Racing and Southern Harness Features. If this race is not held horses will be transferred to Races 6 and 8 and conditions altered.
For R35 to R40 4yo-&-older pacing mares. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Winning Stakes numbering sequentially from 1.
For R40 to R55 4 yrs & older pacers. Also R40 to R55 3yo fillies. Also 3yo colts & geldings with 2 or more wins for lifetime. These races will be split based on Ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary numbering Sequentially from 1. The highest rated race will be run for a stake of $14,000, others $12,000. This race will be selected highest to lowest.
For R40 to R55 4 yrs & older pacers. Also R40 to R55 3yo fillies. Also 3yo colts & geldings with 2 or more wins for lifetime. These races will be split based on Ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary numbering Sequentially from 1. The highest rated race will be run for a stake of $14,000, others $12,000. This race will be selected highest to lowest.

  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME


    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS


    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS


    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the bureau has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the bureau to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the bureau of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS


    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the club's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS


    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.
