It’s been some week for Southern Bred harness racing stock across Australia.

On Friday at Mildura two of the progeny of Somebeachsomewhere won. Mailman was bred by Winton based Todd and Fleur Anderson while Ned’s Beach was bred by John Stiven of Arden Lodge at Tapanui.

The Arden Lodge run continued at Gloucester Park on the same night when Arden’s Horizon (Bettor’s Delight) won his twelfth race. At the same meeting Mighthavtime (Betterthancheddar) won for southern breeder Murray Little.

Also on Friday, Matai Meghan (Washington VC) won at the Newcastle meeting for southern breeders Alex and Karen Milne.

At Albion Park on Saturday night former southern pacer Tairlaw Toll (Somebeachsomewhere) won. He was bred and developed by Macca Lodge’s Brent and Sheree McIntyre.

At the same meeting the stock of now retired stallion Washington VC continued to shine with Classic Washington winning, as did Awaywego (Sunshine Beach) and Big Wheel, (A Rocknroll Dance) both of whom are out of the Washington VC mare Washington Lass.

At Melton on Saturday Macca Lodge’s winning streak continued when Dannemora (Betting Line) won for Emma Stewart. She’s won all five of her starts this season.

At the Menangle meeting on Saturday night BK Swy (Big Jim) won for Otautau breeder Brent Smith, and South Coast Arden (Somebeachsomewhere) continued on his winning way for new trainer Paul Fitzpatrick. He’s another one bred by John Stiven.

Rounding out the great run, Cool Scooter (Mach Three) bred by Greg Hunter won at Hobart on Sunday.
