Southland Cup Horses At Workouts Today

Southland New Zealand Cup hopefuls Franco Santino and Vintage Cheddar were at the Winton Workouts today but were out staged by Lawrence – albeit by a small margin.

Lawrence won the FFA heat by a nose with Franco Santino dead heating with Vintage Cheddar for second.

The heat was run in 3-02.3 with the last 800 metres cut out in 55.9.

Three year old Mach Three colt Ragazzo Mach trained by Nathan Williamson looked promising when he won his mobile heat in 3-06.0 beating another promising type in Alexis Rocket by three quarters of a length.

He’s a half-brother to RR Sand Dollar (7 wins) and Cast No Shadow (8 wins).

Tulsa Jaccka trained by Wayne Adams looked ready to resume, winning her heat by a length from Man I’m Good.
